Did You Know that Chiropractic Care Can Help to Ease Headaches and Migraines?

Having a headache is no day at the beach. We've all had them at one time or another, but when you suffer from frequent headaches or migraines, it can be debilitating. If you live in San Diego, headaches and migraines do not need to control your life. Our Kearny Mesa chiropractors can work with you to determine the cause of your pain and help you get some much needed relief.

Common Headaches and How Our Chiropractors Can Help

Tension  - This most common type of headache is usually caused by stress or bad posture, which can put stress on the spine and muscles in the upper back and neck. Another cause is due to injuries to the muscle on the side of the neck, which is common in people who suffer whiplash during a car accident.

Kearny Mesa headaches treated with chiropractic careMigraine  - Migraines are the worst type of headache and typically include intense and throbbing pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light or noise. They are caused by the constriction of blood vessels in the brain, followed by a dilation of blood vessels. There is a rapid increase in blood pressure inside the head that leads to the excruciating headache.

Cluster  - Cluster headaches are typically felt directly behind the eyes. Occurring mostly at night, they get their name due to the fact that they tend to occur between one to four times a day over several days. Similar to migraines, cluster headaches are caused by the dilation of the blood vessels in the brain, causing an increase in blood pressure in the head.

Chiropractic adjustments are very effective for treating headaches, especially those that originate in the neck. Spinal manipulation can result in an immediate improvement and provide longer lasting relief than medication. Headache relief can be achieved through the manipulation of the upper two cervical vertebrae, combined with adjustments to the junction between the cervical and thoracic spine. These types of adjustments are helpful with most of the above types of pain.

Our team of chiropractors at Kearny Mesa have used state of the art chiropractic techniques to help our patients in the San Diego area feel better fast. We focus on the entire body and determine the actual source of your headaches so we can provide long lasting relief for our patients.

My back went out suddenly - for no reason. Went to 2 Dr.'s, had an X-ray - they found nothing wrong and had no recommendations. THEN a friend told me about Dr. Salanger - in 15 minutes the pain was gone and has not returned 2 weeks later. He gave me a couple exercises to do to strengthen the area. That's it - simple as that when you know what you're doing! THANK YOU Dr. Salanger!
